‘I wanted to send a quick note of thanks after something I saw in Danson Park today.
I came across one of your teachers with a group of Park View pupils who were doing a fantastic job litter-picking around the park. I was genuinely impressed to see these young people giving up their time to help look after our local community and keep Danson Park clean and tidy.
I asked whether I could take a photograph because I would have liked to make a Nextdoor post recognising what the school and its pupils were doing. I completely understand and respect the teacher’s decision that a photograph wasn’t possible.
Nevertheless, I didn’t want their efforts to go unnoticed. The pupils were a real credit to Park View Academy, and I think it is important that young people are recognised when they are doing something positive for their community.
Please pass on my personal thanks to the teacher and all the pupils who were working in the park today. I would also like to thank them on behalf of my fellow Falconwood & Welling Ward Councillors, Barry Saunders and Christine Catterall, and I am sure the Danson Park team will also greatly appreciate their valued help in keeping our lovely park clean and tidy.
