Apprenticeship:
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience, and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. They also get hands-on training and the chance to put skills into practice. They also get time off work to study for new qualifications

Students in KS5 are given the option to take part in a 2 day offsite apprenticeship provided by the Education People, based on their interests.
If you would like to explore more apprenticeship options, please check https://www.gov.uk/apply-apprenticeship.
Work experience:
Employers are very keen on work experience – or rather, they’re keen on what it gives you: the confidence and practical skills you need to succeed in the workplace. Whether or not you’re planning to go to university or college, getting good work experience while you are at school will stand you in good stead when it comes to getting hired.

Our school offers a wide range of work experience opportunities, both in house and with trips to external companies, for example, Ductu (Ductu). Previous trips have included Harvester and Hobbycraft. Ideally, most learners year 10 upwards will attend 4 short sessions of work experience per academic year. We are always on the lookout for work experience opportunities, and we appreciate it when parents and students find their own.
